About DBQ

In 1999, four dragon boat clubs from Brisbane and the Gold Coast joined to form the Queensland Dragon Boat Federation, which in 2015 saw a name change to Dragon Boat Queensland (DBQ).

DBQ is the governing body for dragon boating in Queensland and is a member of the Australian Dragon Boat Federation (AusDBF).

There are currently over 1900 members state-wide training and competing in 37 clubs from Cairns to Tweed Heads.

DBQ is committed to delivering to its members excellence in sports management and equity in access for all clubs throughout the state, DBQ is committed to maintaining and nurturing the traditions of dragon boating and to the continual promotion and development of the sport in our state.
